Biography

Song Guodong, PhD. He graduated in 2013 from the Department of Orthognathic and Temporomandibular Joint Surgery, West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University. He currently works at the Plastic Surgery Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and is primarily engaged in orthognathic surgery and head and neck repair and reconstruction. He is currently a member of the Craniomaxillofacial Surgery Professional Committee of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine and a member of the Craniomaxillofacial Surgery Professional Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association. He has led and participated in multiple research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the 863 Program, and the Key Clinical Discipline Projects of Hospitals Affiliated to the Ministry of Health. He has published more than 20 original articles in domestic and international professional journals, including 11 SCI-indexed papers.

Areas of Expertise:

1. Combined orthodontic-orthognathic treatment (mandibular prognathism, maxillary protrusion, pointed-mouth deformity, and facial asymmetry); 2. Facial contouring (curved mandibular angle ostectomy, zygomaticplasty, and genioplasty); 3. Diagnosis and treatment of head and neck tumors and postoperative repair and reconstruction; 4. Oculoplastic surgery (double-eyelid blepharoplasty, eye-bag correction, and brow lift).
